A Royal Workshop …

Posted on Updated on

Last night, Newmarket Community Choir welcomed Chris Bruerton from the Kings Singers as part of our first “Social” evening with the group.

Chris started the night off with a vocal warmup before giving us a workshop on our Christmas repertoire; covering breathing, blending, diction as well as improving the overall sound of the group.

Chris is a close friend of our director, Rob Cross and it was great that he found some time in his busy schedule to spend the evening with us.

One of our members said: “Fantastic night with Chris from the Kings Singers! Some great tips to keep us on top of our game!”

Robert Cross is the new director of the Newmarket Community Choir.

The former head chorister of Ely Cathedral spent time living in New Zealand and in London where he sang as a deputy lay clerk in St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and at the Tower of London, as well as doing solo work in and around the capital.

The choir meets tonight at 7pm at Palace House and from then fortnightly on Tuesdays, the first meeting being on May 1.
