Summer Evening Concert 2_Small

For our next offering, we are delighted to be sharing the stage with The Voice Squad – an award winning youth choir from Bury St Edmunds.

Both groups will be performing a range of music covering Pop, Musical, Classical and Folk/Spiritual genres so there will be something for everyone!

This is definitely one not to miss and it’s great to be back at All Saints for this programme.

See you there!

Through The Decades …

Through The Decades Poster

On Saturday 25th April, Newmarket Community Choir will take you on a musical journey through the decades.

Whilst we could have found some music based on the early notation methods of Guido d’Arrezo from 1026, we thought it might be easier to start 900 years later, in the 1920’s.
Covering almost 1000 years of music would also make for a much longer performance!

We’ll be singing some popular favorites from the 1920’s right up to present day.

The Newmarket Community Choir are proud to be supporting Red2Green; all proceeds from the concert will be put towards some musical equipment for the charity.

We hope to see you all there!

Saturday Night At The Movies Poster

On Saturday 12th July, the Newmarket Community Choir are proud to bring you an evening of songs from the movies!

Backed by a live band and iconic images from the films, you will hear famous pieces from such films as Lord Of The Rings, Rock Of Ages, Shrek and a selection of the, quintessentially British, James Bond themes.

Join us from 4:45pm for a perfect family afternoon out! There will be a fete to enjoy before the event with various games to play and prizes to be won and, of course, an opportunity to stock up on popcorn; the perfect accompaniment for the show (6:15pm start).

NCC Help Hospital to Heal Hearts

Posted on Updated on

After our successful Rhythm Of Life concert in March, we had a write up in the Newmarket Journal about the money raised for the Healing Hearts appeal.
The article states …

A cheque for £1,400, raised at a charity concert performed by the Newmarket Community Choir, has been presented to Addenbrooke’s Hospital to help with the cost of a specialist scanner which helps diagnose heart conditions in babies, children and teenagers.
The cause was suggested by choir member Ellen Cole, pictured with her husband Bob, paediatric neonatologist, Wilf Kelsall, and community fundraiser Kristina Bright, who three-year-old grandson Lucas’s heart problem was picked up by the scanner.
“We are delighted with the total and I just want to thank everyone who made it possible, particularly the choir and choirmaster Robert Cross,” said Ellen.

It is a fantastic cause that the choir were so happy to support. Lucas is one of the choir’s biggest fans and it was great that Ellen and Bob suggested to put on such a brilliant event.

“For the rhythm of life is a powerful beat, puts a tingle in your fingers and a tingle in your feet”.

Everyone loves a good musical number. One that has the ability to make your toes tap in-time to the beat and leave you humming all the way home.

The Newmarket Community Choir will be featured in this concert entitled “The Rhythm Of Life”; an evening of song from the shows at the Memorial Hall. Featuring popular pieces from Rent, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Company, Into The Woods, Once, AvenueQ, Les Misérables and more!

Tickets are still available for this performance which will also see solos and duets from Newmarket Community Choir director, Robert Cross, local performer and vocal coach Bethany Barber and Robbie Noonan – Suffolk Youth Vocal Champion.

Tickets are £5 and you can get them from Vernon Smith Carpets and Coffee & Co. in Newmarket.

It will be a great night and will put you in a great mood for the rest of the week!
